Edward
E. Crouch, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Crouch has
been with Ophthalmic Associates since 1982 when he
moved his ophthalmic practice from North Carolina
back to Alaska where he had served in the United
States Air Force.
Raised in
Alabama, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree
from the University of Alabama College of Medicine.
He completed his ophthalmology residency in Texas
at the Wilford-Hall USAF Medical Center before
coming to Alaska in 1972 as an ophthalmologist at
Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage.
He became
certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in
1974 and since then has been a Fellow of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Crouch is
active in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and
has also been certified by the American College of
Surgeons.
Dr. Crouch has
served as Chief of Ophthalmology and Chairman of
the Department of Surgery at Providence Hospital.
He was recently named to the Scientific Advisory
Board of the Royal Hawaiian Eye Meeting.
Recipient of the
American Medical Association Physicians Recognition
Award continuously since 1979, he is not only an
active member of this body, but of the Alaska State
Medical Association and the Anchorage Medical
Society. He practices general ophthalmology with
special interests in cataract and refractive
surgery.
Dr. Crouch is
married and the father of three grown children and
has six grandchildren. His leisure activities range
from hunting and fishing to gardening, woodworking,
and golf.
